A man walking his doggies in Il Campo.
While in Siena, we stayed at Cannon d'Oro - it was centrally located, but even in the winter a bit noisy for me. Am I getting old? The price was decent, but I think I'd rather be in a place that has better insulation. I don't know what's gotten into me.

One thing I enjoyed was trying each region's pizza. Of course Naples has it's claim to fame -- but each region has its own take on pizza. I really like Perugia's inexpensive take-away. Siena, was pricier, but it had a really tasty flatbread pizza (well, at least at this one place, I think it was called Pizza al Corso, across from that famous pasticceria shop,
Nannini - has great pastries and coffee.
Each thin sliver of pizza costs 2 euros and will definitely not fill you up. I also wanted to check out this dive restaurant, but they were on vacation! So next time, perhaps when we are there in the summer, we will have time to dine there!
I remember when we were coming into Tuscany - noting the change in the colors in the scenery from Umbria (Assisi and Perugia). Umbria was not as developed as Tuscany -- there are still areas in Umbria that had a lot of those homes that needed to be restored, vs. Tuscany, which was full of rolling green hills.
