Amalfi Coast Links

Before we went to Italy, we did a significant amount of research on the regions we planned on visiting (and even some we didn't end up visiting). We even considered staying in the Amalfi Coast, but after weighing our options decided to stay in the Sorrentine peninsula instead, because it would be more convenient for us. We decided for several reasons:

- It was our first time to this region (south of Rome)
- We weren't going to rent a car
- Limited budget
- Limited time (18 days)
- We wanted to mix up our sightseeing, plus we're sisters (not on our honeymoon!)

That's why we decided on Sant'Agnello/Sorrento. But, believe me, the Amalfi Coast did look awfully tempting... in fact, because it was off-season, there were some very good deals! Also, I'm going to post some of the places I wish we had been able to visit, like the smaller towns in the Amalfi Coast (Campania) -- more specifically Ravello and Praiano -- as the SITA bus does serve does towns (but I think my sister's Dramamine was wearing off by then).

Ravello and Praiano: I have not come across many good sites for these less frequented Amalfi Coast towns. There are some guide books out there that might have information on them, but you'll probably have better luck scouring the web, especially sites such as SlowTrav and Rick Steves. If you can read Italian, even better. Otherwise, you will get bombarded with a lot of sites that advertise their hotels or something like that.

I am going to post a couple of links that tell you the key sights to visit, and then whatever else you want to visit is up to you depending on how long you plan on staying in them. We didn't get to stay there -- or even visit. But from all the photos and things I have read, everyone should go there! Well, not everyone! You know what I mean...
