I have not personally contacted any of these institutions recently to verify if they still accept lodgers. I would assume so. From my dealings while planning my own vacations, it would prove wise that you contact in advance as some of these institutions book early (sometimes even 1 year ahead). If you don't hear back from them, don't take offense (they have a limited budget and access to technology). Bear in mind increases in price, too.

Convento di Sant'Angelo d'Ocre - 67020 Fossa, accepts singles and couples for brief retreats.
Santuario del Volto Santo - 65024 Manoppello (tel. 39-85-859118) has 75 guest rooms with private bath and telephone, as well as a very reasonably priced restaurant.
Convento dell'Osservanza - 65028 Tocco da Casauria (tel. 39-85-880132) offers 160 beds in its adjacent Casa Santa Maria del Paradiso.

Curfew: 11 p.m. Open: All year. Train station: Santa Lucia. Take water bus #1 or #52 to Piazza San Marco. Cross the Piazza, walk 2 blocks on Mercerie and turn right; go about 4 blocks to Ponte Guerre (a bridge), cross it and turn left immediately.
